The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) has selected the ASME UNO Student Section for the 2024-2025 Student Section Achievement Award. The Student Section Achievement Award is a national recognition that highlights the accomplishments of outstanding ASME student sections, with a specific focus on sections that provide programs and activities to help students on campus.
ASME UNO offers a variety of services and events on campus, including not only talks and seminars, but also design competitions and holiday celebrations. Students are given opportunities to network and collaborate with other students and professionals in their field, which often lead to internships and careers. This award acknowledges the hard work that our engineering students, faculty and staff have put into providing a nurturing, engaging academic environment.
ASME is the largest professional organization for mechanical engineers in the world, with over 75,000 members. Through student sections, ASME provides engineering students with access to networking events, student competitions, volunteer opportunities, and key resources to support their professional development.
ASME selects student sections from across the United States to recognize each year. In the 2024-2025 academic year, ASME selected 70 campuses to receive the Student Section Achievement Award, out of over 400 student sections at universities and colleges across the country.
