The 快播导航 has selected Justin McKenzie as its new vice president for information technology and chief information officer. The Board of Supervisors for the 快播导航 of Louisiana System approved his appointment today. McKenzie, who brings nearly 30 years of IT experience to the role, was most recently the chief information officer at Lincoln 快播导航 in Pennsylvania.
"Justin McKenzie is a skilled leader who is well-versed in a number of critical areas including IT support services, telecommunications, research computing, academic computing, information systems and cybersecurity,鈥 said UNO President Kathy Johnson. 鈥淲e are excited for him to help bring the 快播导航 into a new information technology era.鈥
McKenzie will provide leadership and strategic vision for the use of integrated information technologies across the university enterprise, including academic affairs, research, finance and administration, and institutional research. He will lead the Office of Information Technology.
For the past six years, McKenzie has been the chief information officer at Lincoln 快播导航 where he developed and implemented a campus information technology master plan. He completed a campus-wide technology assessment, which led to an aggressive pursuit of stabilization and upgrades of the university鈥檚 IT infrastructure. Prior to that, he held similar leadership roles at Alabama A&M 快播导航, Winston-Salem State 快播导航, Florida Institute of Technology and the 快播导航 of Southern Mississippi.
McKenzie is affiliated with a number of regional and national professional organizations, and he鈥檚 won numerous awards, including the Ed Scoop Higher Education IT Executive of the Year award in 2023.
McKenzie holds a master鈥檚 degree in engineering technology from the 快播导航 of Southern Mississippi, an MBA from William Carey 快播导航 and a bachelor鈥檚 degree in information systems from the 快播导航 of Southern Mississippi.
He will begin his new role at UNO on October 1.
